A mobile notary public is not an attorney!

Certified Notary Public

I am a certified Notary Public in the state of North Carolina. This means that I am authorized to notarize a wide range of documents, including loan documents, power of attorney, titles, and more. But I am not qualified or legally allowed to provide anybody with any legal advice of any kind, even legal advice about your documents. You must seek a licensed legal professional for all legal matters.

Important Information Regarding Notary Services

Notary Services of NC is a North Carolina-licensed, bonded, and insured notary public service. All notarial acts are performed in accordance with North Carolina General Statutes Chapter 10B and applicable rules issued by the North Carolina Secretary of State.

No Legal Advice

Notary Services of NC is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice.

We do not:

  • Draft legal documents

  • Select documents for notarization

  • Explain, interpret, or advise on the legal effect of any document

  • Recommend which notarial act is required

If you have questions regarding the content or legal effect of a document, you should consult a licensed attorney.

Scope of Notarial Authority

Our services are limited strictly to lawful notarial acts authorized under North Carolina law, including:

  • Acknowledgments

  • Jurats

  • Verifications or proofs

  • Oaths and affirmations

We may refuse service if:

  • Proper identification is not presented

  • A signer does not appear willing or aware

  • The notarization requested is not permitted by law

Geographic Limitations

All notarizations are performed by a North Carolina-commissioned notary and are considered to take place within the State of North Carolina, regardless of the signer’s physical location during remote online notarization, as permitted by law.

Electronic and Remote Online Notarization

Electronic notarizations and Remote Online Notarizations (RON) are conducted using state-approved technology and in compliance with North Carolina statutes and Secretary of State rules.

These services may include:

  • Identity verification

  • Credential analysis

  • Knowledge-based authentication (when required)

  • Audio-visual recording of the notarization session

  • Secure electronic journals and records

Remote notarization sessions are recorded and retained as required by law.

Recordkeeping and Retention

Notary Services of NC maintains:

  • Notarial journals as required or recommended by law

  • Electronic records and audio-visual recordings for remote notarizations

Records are retained securely and confidentially for the period required under North Carolina law and are released only as permitted or required by law.

Fees and Payments

Notarial fees are charged in accordance with North Carolina statutory fee limits. Applicable fees are disclosed prior to service. Travel or convenience fees, when applicable, are disclosed and agreed upon in advance.

Right to Refuse Service

Notary Services of NC reserves the right to refuse any notarization that does not meet legal requirements or raises concerns regarding identity, willingness, awareness, or compliance with North Carolina law.

Limitation of Liability

Notary Services of NC shall not be liable for the content, accuracy, or legal sufficiency of documents presented for notarization. Responsibility for document content rests solely with the signer and/or document preparer.
